As a logical step following his invention of the covered welding electrode back in 1904, Oscar Kjellberg founded ESAB. Since then, the company has constantly improved on existing methods and materials. At the same time, ESAB has developed new methods to meet the challenge presented by technological progress.

Today the company produces consumables and equipment for virtually every welding and cutting process and application.
More than 100 years of continuous research, development and manufacture have made ESAB a world leader in welding, cutting and also an international supplier of products, know-how and services that none can match.

ESAB Asia/Pacific, located in Singapore Jurong, with logistics, training and distribution facilities, is the regional headquarters.  We have sales offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan and Australia and authorised distributors throughout the region namely the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

ESAB has recently expanded it's presence in Australia with the addition of new distributors, local warehousing and new personnel in late 2010.

We also have manufacturing operations in India, Indonesia, Korea and the latest consumables factory in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province in China.
