Singapore - ESAB, a world leader in welding and cutting technologies, recently highlighted a range of welding and cutting solutions for the oil and gas sector at Oil & Gas Myanmar 2015, including the new Warrior™ 500i multi-process welding power source designed for versatility and all-location flexibility.

Myanmar is an important natural gas producer within Southeast Asia and is estimated to have the world's 10th largest reserves of natural gas. With a population of 63 million and high industrial growth, the domestic demand for energy is high. This was ESAB's first time exhibiting at Oil & Gas Myanmar 2015, the leading oil and gas expo in the region that spotlights petroleum exploration, production and refining products and services.

At the show, ESAB launched the Warrior 500i CC/CV. Designed for GMAW (MIG), Flux Cored, SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) welding, as well as arc gouging, the Warrior 500i delivers up to 500 amps at 60% duty cycle in a highly reliable and rugged unit. It welds 0.8mm to 1.6mm flux-cored and solid wires, has a full range of Stick capabilities with outstanding basic and cellulosic performance, and carbon arc gouges up to 10 mm (3/8 inch) diameter.

The multi-process power source stands up to the harshest working conditions with durable external panels and an air tunnel design that shields critical electronics from dust and metal shavings. It provides a consistently smooth and stable arc throughout its entire operating range in every process.

In addition to its reliability and flexibility, Warrior is an inverter-based system that offers cost efficiency through low investment, low operating and maintenance costs.

During the three-day show ESAB welcomed a number of visitors and customers, including H.E. U Than Myint, Minister of National Planning & Economic Development and H.E. U Nyan Tun, Minister of Industry & Energy.

"Myanmar presents an exciting opportunity for ESAB to expand its presence in Asia," says Victor Toh, Channel Sales Director Asia. "We anticipate an increased need for welding and cutting solutions for the oil and gas industry as activities ramp up in the next one to two years. Oil & Gas Myanmar is the ideal platform for us to introduce our products and solutions to this new market, as well as extend our network and partnerships in the country. With 110 years of experience, ESAB is well positioned to help companies address business challenges with confidence."
